State Thomas Strutters

Abby, 2

This sweet little rescue might have been shy, but not about wanting her belly rubbed! She laid right down and showed me her belly! Of course, I thanked her for allowing me to photograph by obliging!

Archer, 1

Archer was out getting some exercise with his people-parents when I came upon him in Griggs Park. He, too, was a little shy and needed some coaxing from mom and dad to feel comfortable. But once he calmed down he was very obliging with his poses.

Bella, 1

Bella wasn’t really sure about me. Can I blame her? “Why is this strange human sticking this thing in front of her face?” Still, she did bear with me and at least let me get one shot of her. Thank you Bella!

Juju, 5

Whenever I see a French Bulldog, I just want to squeal! Juju was no exception. Strong, assessing, and relaxed Juju hung back, checking things out with his ears perked up the entire time. He exhibited the cool patience only an old soul can possess.

Lily, 2

Who doesn’t just go crazy for for a dog who looks like a little teddy bear! Pure white fur and spunk for days, Lily was more than just a pretty face. Though small, she chased much bigger dogs letting them know, in no uncertain terms, who was boss. Now that’s my kinda gal!

Lola, 4 1/2

Talk about a dog you want to cuddle up with! Lola looks like a teddy bear come to life! She was as sweet and eager to please as she was cute. She would just look over at me and I would get a great shot of her. I think I could have spent the entire day with her! Until next time, Lola!

Melrose, 3

Melrose definitely wanted to know what was going on, which meant her ears were always perked. That makes for a GREAT photo! She told me she is very much enjoying this quarantine because she gets to spend so much time with mom. I’m sure she is not alone in feeling that way!

Moose, 1 1/2

Yes, I am a total sucker for a Golden Retriever (having one myself) and I squealed with delight when I met Moose. I loved how he nearly blended in with the brick wall. He was very playful, of course, giving me lots to work with…even a big yawn!

Sawyer, 7

The scruffy fur! The sweet demeanor! Sawyer’s face speaks of wisdom! I could have fallen in love with him if I spent too much time with him! He was eager to please and very curious with a calm energy. How delighted I was when I saw him again the next day while getting my cappuccino in State Thomas!

Snuggles, 11

Strike a pose! And that’s exactly what Snuggles does! All you have to do is say “Wanna go bye?” and she perks right up and looks straight at you. Though, I think she started to get suspicious when I said it so many times. Then it really was time for her to go and she strutted right out of there with her people-parents fully aware of who was really in charge!

Stark, 1

If only Tony Stark had been wise enough to have this guy in his family his fate may have been different! Despite his imposing stare and hanging mouth, this Stark was full of curiosity, enthusiasm and was keenly aware of everything going on around him!

Queen Victoria, 1 1/2

God save the Queen…and we’re not talking about the queen of England! THIS Queen Victoria was so excited to greet me she could hardly contain herself, which, of course, made me very happy, even if I had to keep my distance.

(King*) George, 2 1/2

Talk about regal! George posed like he knew he proudly represented royalty! He looked almost like a statue you’d see in front of a grand old estate! George and Queen Victoria should lead the next Dallas Dog parade (if that’s not a thing, we should make it a thing!)

Yawny, 3

Yawny was out for a day of training when I met him and his pet-parent. His keen observation and quick recall was very impressive. He was a little leery of me at the start, but once he understood that I was his friend he wanted to rub on me and be petted. A very good boy and one you want at your side, for sure!

Andy, 6 1/2

Andy is the sweetest of pups. He is loyal, playful, protective, and gentle. He loves to play fetch, so much, in fact, he has to be closely regulated or he’ll make himself sick. Yes, he is my dog and I wasn’t going to include him because this blog is about ALL the Dogs of Dallas (not just mine), but I got this adorable shot of him and had to share it!
